Emergency Evacuation
Emergency and medical evacuation benefits pay for medically supervised transport to the nearest facility that can treat you safely, or sometimes to a centre of excellence in another country, when local care is inadequate or unavailable. This is distinct from simple “ambulance” cover: it can include air ambulance, medical escort, and coordination by an assistance company appointed by the insurer.
Policies differ sharply on triggers. Some cover evacuation only when life or limb is at immediate risk; others are broader but still require clinical sign-off. Repatriation to your home country may be a separate limit or optional rider. Evacuation is not a substitute for travel insurance for trip cancellation or lost baggage—it is anchored to acute medical need.
If you live in a region with uneven specialist capacity, evacuation limits and destination rules matter as much as the headline sum insured. Check whether a benefit pays for a companion, whether return to your country of residence is included after treatment, and any exclusions for war zones, pandemics, or hazardous activities. We help you align this benefit with where you actually spend time, not just the brochure default.
